Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times Hardly good enough to show friends in private as a "cool" enthusiast effort, "Ximbi Xombix" fails to warrant commercial exhibition. Jay K The screen play is uneven at best, but the movie saved by Claudia Pak's outstanding performance. Her riveting acting had me glued to the screen like sticky rice. Does anyone else know what else she has been in? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This clever and entertaining film combined music, comedy and horror and was a really fun ride. An example of indie film making at its best. Highly recommended! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review william w A wild ride of reggae fueled genre bending keep you guessing film fun. Worth a watch. Oh yea, there are some zombies. And it all makes sense. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm not sure how to accurately describe Ximbi XombiX because it really must be seen to be believed, and seen it should absolutely be!! This film is a mind bending odyssey into a universe like nothing I've seen before. Artistic and simultaneously cinematic it's a zombie musical about a band and their art...and then some. For any adventurous cinephile, this movie really pulls off something truly original and breaks every mold. Worth it. Highly Recommend!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Ximbi XombiX is a weird, wild, funny, indie journey. If you're into zombie kpop altered state VR reggae flicks.... well then you probably already saw this. If you're not, maybe check this one out and find that you are into such things. Life is interesting, and this film is very Interesting (with a capital "I"). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Ximbi XombiX is a wild ride through art as it combines traditional film, VR, music, and so much more into a fantastic work. If this film was hanging in a gallery, on it's info card it would be listed as multi-media. As a non-traditionalist, I loved how the film took me on a journey through the art cosmos. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't some Warhol film that leaves you guessing if there's a story or point. Without giving too much away, the film tells the story of a band and their music... or to reference the aforementioned, the story of a band and their ART. Beyond enjoying the ride, the music for this film was AWESOME. Some of the songs even had a sort of a Sublime vibe. Totally a film worth checking out if you love the arts.
