Bryanna M Well put documentary. I went in with limited expectations but found myself really invested in the information and reality of the Yellowstone eruption. Really well done by the crew and everyone involved by showing just how vast eruptions are by referring to Mt. St. Helens, Pompeii etc., because you look back and you try to gain perspective of sorts when reality this is something that when it does happen there is no real way to describe the force and magnitude that will come to fruition. It’s just so unthinkable how we never really take into perspective how alarming volcanos and other natural occurring events are because we don’t take the time to think about it as much. As for the information provided I think it’s fair to say the message was quite clear that the Earth and its work still remain a mystery of sorts and while it gives it does also take. Look at Iceland’s volcano, it is unactive and its last eruption was 4000 years ago, but you still can witness the magma channels and chambers when we still don’t even know its origin. From the moss that has grown atop the solidified lava field to the cavern that is about 400 Olympic swimming pools in size would not even amount to the devastation that a super volcano eruption could create. This is a global event that will reshape entire continents through its volcanic clouds and ash stretching all the way out towards Europe within the first 3 days to the toxic rainfall that will kill crops, wildlife, and contaminate water. It would single handedly stop the world in its track. Even when they describe the signs these are actions that would be unmissable from the earthquakes to changes in gas emissions and thermal activity, it’s all just so unthinkable because even with our technology none of it would matter this would be an event where you would be screwed no matter your location. Then again, the film made it seem like it could happen tomorrow till millions of years from now, nerveless fine watch if you’re fascinated by such things 8/10.
