There were some cute moments, but overall, the film was far too broad, and I felt at one point it could better serve as an interactive stage play with its over the top physicality and splatter count.

A clever concept, but shaky execution. It’s definitely made for horror fans, with plenty of references and deep cuts I appreciated. Some running gags (Steve the Kayak King, Jamie’s hole-digging skills, the ancient sheriff) really land, while others fall flat — not helped by some wooden performances, oddly including veteran Alyson Hannigan. Horror fans will find a few things to enjoy, but there are plenty of better horror comedies out there.
