Audience Member Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs and introducing Bryan O' Dell in a blaxploitation flick directed by Noel Nosseck about a realistic gang war/drug story With music especially performed by War It focuses on a 15 year old boy named Youngblood set in the ghetto neighborhood in south central Los Angeles He only lives with his mother and drifts away from school Youngblood is christened by a local gang called the Kingsmen Rommel is his role model who's realizing his seniority after suffering in Vietnam It's only a matter of time before Youngblood becomes involved with an all-out war with a local cartel of drug dealers This was just ok I do like the approach they take from this though for a young man learning the hard way being in a gang as opposed to just having friends to mean something The violence and hurt can hit in more ways than one getting in too deep I'll admit Bryan O' Dell excels in his first role here dealing with subject matter that feels all to raw and reel given when this was taking place Having a social conscious is still on the table too despite all the rivalries and the hurt they bring upon one another Decent 1970s black cinema far from great but real enough Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Why don't black people kidnap drug dealers and disappear them to keep them from poisoning our children anymore? Just a thought. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I really Enjoyed this movie. The 70's style and funk flows through the angsty teen drama. The deteriation of young african american youth in LA is depicted clearly in this film and its drastic consequences while adding interesting story in gang culture at the time. it's a classic i'm not to sure why more people haven't watched. It could have moved at faster points at ome times and m,ore characters could have been fleshed out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
