Richard Kuipers Variety "Hero" is kept on course by excellent lead performances. Dec 7, 2021 Full Review Allan Hunter Screen International Director Jimmy Wan serves up a mountain range of emotional peaks; this is not a film for the cynical, but the relentless onslaught on the senses could wear down even the most resistant viewer. Dec 8, 2021 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media This is a unique "comeback kid" biopic, positive in messages if, at times, needlessly sappy and melodramatic. Rated: 3/5 Nov 9, 2021 Full Review Ricardo Gallegos La Estatuilla It follows the template of conventional biopics to the letter, but still manages to entertain, move, and generate a reflection. Alan Joseph H Honestly, it stinks. Had to force myself to sit through it since I wasn't watching it alone. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Alex A must-see new Hong Kong biopic movie. Hong kong always lacks hero stories and characters, now we have a good one. He is not a superhero, but a crippled human with a superhero spirit, and a superhero mother. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/22 Full Review Audience Member This sports movie was really good. The entire cast and crew did a fantastic job on making this movie. This true story about a Chinese boy with cerebral palsy who becomes a Paralympic athlete was inspirational, dramatic, and heartfelt. It's about never giving up on your dreams even if you're handicapped. If you're a Netflix member, you should watch this movie sometime. It's a definite must see. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Dan F Superb as a directorial debut. The ending was not satisfying. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/28/21 Full Review Audience Member Atrociously bad! Absolutely awful. The worst film I've seen in 10 years. It's immensely over-acted, totally laughable, sappy, annoying, and music is the worst I've heard in a movie by far. Add bad CGI and ridiculous storytelling and editing, and the only thing you have left is OK production value. A stinker! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Es la primera película de Hong Kong que veo en Netflix y no me ha decepcionado; es una historia real muy fascinante. ¡TOTALMENTE RECOMENDABLE!
