After marrying Narendra (Anupam Kher), a journalist and magazine publisher facing a dire financial situation, Indu (Minalini) begins to envy her sister, Bindu (Sushmita Mukherjee), whose husband is the very rich Sundeep (Ravi Baswani). Indu and her daughter move in with Bindu, but she soon learns that Sundeep is far from the ideal husband he seemed to be. Indu must then decide to either return home and use her own money to keep Narendra's publishing operation in business or to stay with Bindu.
