Margaret Lyons New York Times The show is as gentle and mild as baby soap, though it could hardly promise no tears. Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Benji Wilson Daily Telegraph (UK) [Danson] has perfect comic pitch, yet can still evince just enough sadness to make Charles, a retiree-turned-amateur shamus, seem like an actual person. Rated: 4/5 Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Danson embodies [Charles' arc] with genuine pathos, gives this terrific comedy a tender truthfulness. It’s the complete package. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 3, 2024 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv Even in their most tender and declining moments, people in long term care can still be warm and funny and heartbreaking. Kudos, therefore, to Danson and Schur, the perfect choices to lead us into this less explored world with The Man on the Inside. Jan 28, 2025 Full Review Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier No new ground is broken and the comedy is soft, not laugh-out-loud, but there are worse ways to spend an evening and it finds its footing after about the fourth episode of the eight. Jan 25, 2025 Full Review Tilly Pearce iNews.co.uk Over time, the mystery that brought us into this world disappears amid a sea of subplots and unconnected adventures, and without that foundation, everything feels wobbly and inconsistent. Roderick M Don't be misled. This is not a comedy series, though it does have some heartfelt laughs. It's a light hearted poignant tale of aging in America. Well worth watching, especially if you're getting on in years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review Henry H Not funny. The production looks good, however the show was inherently not-funny. It's good enough to pass time, but not funny. Unlike other comedy shows, I can't recall any scene from the show that makes me laugh even after watching it. I hardly laughed while watching it. But perhaps it's because I'm in my 20s and maybe i'm not the target audience for the show. However comedy shouldn't be restricted to specific demographics. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/25 Full Review Brady R Great story. Good laughs. Love the characters. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review brian s Life can be funny, sad, heartwarming, and ridiculous. This show takes you through all of life’s emotions without beating you over the head with any of them. Other shows would push the lead character to continue driving the plot, no matter what they’re going through. In “ A man on the inside”, when Ted Danson‘s boss pushes him to Get back to work, he tells her no. He’s dealing with some serious emotional stuff and he needs to cope with it. Just like we all do. He also makes a great friend that steals every scene he’s in. Although making another season, it doesn’t need to be made. I can’t see how we can get better than this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Tom S Great story. Good laughs. No violence. Love performances and characters. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review J Danielle J It is so refreshing to see a well-developed show giving voice to the experiences of our seniors in a funny, moving, respectful manner. Ted Danson is excellent and the supporting cast couldn't be better. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Read all reviews
