Margaret Lyons New York Times The show is as gentle and mild as baby soap, though it could hardly promise no tears. Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Benji Wilson Daily Telegraph (UK) [Danson] has perfect comic pitch, yet can still evince just enough sadness to make Charles, a retiree-turned-amateur shamus, seem like an actual person. Rated: 4/5 Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Danson embodies [Charles' arc] with genuine pathos, gives this terrific comedy a tender truthfulness. It’s the complete package. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 3, 2024 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) Danson, as adept with tragedy as he is with comedy, is wonderful as the gentlemanly Charles. Despite travelling through the terrain of ageing and death the scripts are as light as a quickstep. Jan 3, 2025 Full Review Gissane Sophia Marvelous Geeks Media Sharp, hilarious, and brilliantly wholesome, the series shines a gorgeous lens on a demographic that rarely gets the spotlight. Dec 22, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked A Man On The Inside is a caper, a buddy comedy and a meditation on grief, and pulls off all three effortlessly. Rated: B+ Dec 19, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Urs P Humor feels stale, like something that was maybe funny or amusing 20 years ago. Usually i am a fan of both Michael Schur and Ted Danson but this is a complete miss Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Dan H Started wonderfully but went down the hole when residents started to pass away or moved to the memory care facility. Show went from a funny "crime" PI story to a story about old age. I've lived this with my parents and my wife's parents, and to be honest, I didn't need to revisit the bad parts of senior living facilities. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/25 Full Review Jon B Wow - this was amazing! Only 8 episodes, 30 minutes each, and it is sweet, charming, mostly clean (finally, Netflix!!), funny, with a great cast and story. Not to be missed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Jay W Ted Danson plays Charles, one of the nicest grandpas you'll ever meet. He is recruited by a private investigator, named Julie, to help her find the culprit who stole a valuable necklace. That might be the hook of the show, but in truth the show lives and dies by the charm of the characters. The show is less about mystery or comedy, and more about the characters and setting. It has a very cozy optimism about it. Don't misunderstand, there are some very sad parts to the show. But it is shared in a way that encourages audiences to enjoy the time they have, as opposed to dreading the end. Get inside and watch it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Audience Member I don’t often use the word ”cute” to describe something but this series about a crime ridden retirement home starting a near 80 Ted Danson and a bunch of septuagenarians is…cute. When Helen’s necklace goes missing, Ted is roped into infiltrating the home to get to the bottom of it and solve the crime. Cranking out the old Mayday charm, he quickly becomes the BMOC while learning some important life lessons along the way. This series is a quickie… 8 half hour episodes on Netflix that will send you to bed with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Not gonna make anyone forget they ever had a groin injury a g-g-groin injury but it is some good family fun. 7/10. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Mary C So good. Surprised at Ted Danson, never been a huge fan but he is so well suited for this role. I loved it to where I found myself hoping for a season 2. Good barometer for me.
