It’s the perfect blend of humor, drama, quirky but lovable characters, and beautiful scenery. My husband and I have a ritual; after each episode one of us says, “That was charming!” Because there’s no other way to describe it. The house keeper is annoying because she interferes constantly and acts like a know it all. She is a housekeeper! Carmody, a new edition should just move away out of the Dales, he does not fit in. Episode 4 (Season 5) is boring, Helen acts bored with the role and James like he wants to be somewhere else. Siegrieds moods are wearing thin. The most likeable ones are Helen's father and Tristan. They're good, humorous actors who create believable characters. I feel after the first couple of seasons it became tired quickly. I'm mad I paid PBS, this series should have been free.
