Based on the best-selling novels by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling), Tom Burke ("The Musketeers") stars as private detective Cormoran Strike, a former war veteran now working out of a cramped London office. Together with his assistant, Robin Ellacott, Cormoran tackles cases that have, so far, baffled the police. Though struggling with the psychological and physical toll that combat have wrought on him, Cormoran is well-equipped to delve into complex conundrums thanks to his background as a Special Investigation Branch investigator.

Joel Keller Decider While the mystery in C.B. Strike: The Ink Black Heart is a bit slowly-paced, we do appreciate the elbow room the writers have to explore the lives and relationships of Strike, Robin and the other series regulars. Jan 26, 2025 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said The suggestion of romance continues to thrust and parry, but is gently squelched. Will this be another Moonlighting? Shoutout to the great British character actor Ruth Sheen as the smart, honest assistant we all need. Rated: 2/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Anthony D Loved the previous seasons and they followed the books well. This season on the other hand felt rushed. The book was so good, action packed and hard to put down while the show was almost the complete opposite. They never developed the characters and really missed major plot parts of the book. The next book was also phenomenal and for it to be done properly will need a longer season otherwise don’t waste the actors or our time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/10/25 Full Review Noel K Wow...what a reversal of fortune! A series that was primarily character driven falls flat on its face. Never weighted towards strength of story, this once enjoyable series has lost its way with a convoluted storyline and actors clearly jaded beneath its weight. Oh well...on to the next show. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Tom O This series is a waste of time. A overcrowded list of characters and a woeful dialogue makes this the worst C.B. Strike series I have ever seen. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Arya S Such a disappointing season! Way too many characters and names and a convoluted plot, with too much talking and very little action or development around a "who-cares" setting of online game intrigue. Strike and Ellacott remain a great duo, though, so hoping things improve next season. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/25 Full Review Ray C On the positive side Pat's character has really become likable. Way too many characters and a terrible payoff in the end. I think its important to not like a villain?!? Let alone be introduced to them in any meaningful way! Terrible disappointment after the other seasons were so good. This not actually jumping the shark, it's just bad story telling. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Barry R SPOILER ALERT. Bloody hell <hand of forehead>. As soon as Gus opened the door for the first time, it was obvious it was him. Brilliant. Now sit through the sluggish plot and jumble of names for the final release of tension between Robin and Cormoran, which doesn’t come. FFS. Oh but, let’s end with this scene instead shall we: “Oh Cormoran, you took a knife for me because I ran into the house of a killer and while you lay dying you tried to tell me you love me, and even though my tears were flowing (because i love you too and needed to hear it) you couldn’t say the words. Oh well, here you are now in hospital, laying there unable to move so I’ll just take this opportunity to let you know that I’m going on a date with that copper tonight. Okay? See you tomorrow? Bye.” What utter cods**t. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
