Hughe J Season 1 of Castlevania Nocturne was released in 2023 on streaming and is a vampire hunting animated story set during the French Revolution. It is a sequel of sorts to the very successful, and much better, animated Castlevania series (2017-2021). It follows the story of the Belmont family who hunt vampires and demons and the current hunter Edward Belmont. While the original series, especially the first two seasons, were rich in lore and character development, Nocturne seems more concerned with girl bosses, weak men, and checking boxes. There is virtually no character development to be found and to make matters worse much of the animation doesn't look finished; it doesn't have the elegance of the original show.
