Benji Wilson Daily Telegraph (UK) But while Legends may appear to be just hagiography – and there is indeed a great deal of kissing the ring – over the course of the series it does make a compelling case that what these four chefs have done is more than just amusing bouches. Rated: 4/5 May 1, 2025 Full Review Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic Basically, it’s fun to watch genius at work. Apr 25, 2025 Full Review James Delingpole The Spectator Chef’s Table: Legends might be better if it weren’t so stiltedly hagiographical and earnest. May 8, 2025 Full Review Marty Brown Common Sense Media The series can focus a bit too much on the chef's resumes, but it makes up for that with lavish, creative photography that immerses the viewer into the chefs' visions. May 7, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Chef’s Table: Legends continues the series’ tradition of digging into the lives of the chefs who make the food that is featured in each episode. Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said Jamie Oliver, Alice Waters, Thomas Keller, and José Andrés. While learning about the ways they entered the vast world of cooking, and dedicated themselves to it, we get to look at a lot of the food. 😊 Their stories are terrifically interesting. Bruce R It started really well. Jose Adres and Jamie Oliver have done so much for others on the back of their celebrity. Truly sacrificing themselves to help the unemployed or those other countries suffering devastation. The other two, amazing chefs, but in the end all about the USA and themselves. Thomas Keller, an icon undoubtedly, but in the end he is credited with introducing French cuisine to the USA. Alice Waters, also amazing, but seems to think growing things organically will feed this largely impoverished world and that everyone has a choice. Given enough money, all is possible. But the world is not the USA. The world struggles with having enough to eat and clean water. Forget organically grown food. And by the way, this is just the USA catching up with Europe has done for 1,000's of years. The USA industrialized and commoditized food production. This USA-centric view of the planet, particularly in these Trump times, is a disgrace. I believe it was an American who said "All men are created equal". I'm not seeing that.
