What to Know

Critics Consensus

Daisy Jones & the Six comes up short at evoking the rockstar credentials that were implied on the page, but the lively duet of Riley Keough and Sam Claflin give this adaptation enough verve to occasionally bring the house down.

Coralie Kraft The New Yorker The series’ protagonist is depressingly one-dimensional, despite being modelled on Stevie Nicks. Mar 27, 2023 Full Review Carmen Phillips Autostraddle Daisy Jones admittedly does have a bit of an artificial sheen to it; if you’re looking for a raw depiction of 1970s rock, this is most certainly not it. But if you enjoy listening to Stevie Nicks while drinking white wine with smokey eye shadow... Mar 25, 2023 Full Review Peter Aspden Financial Times There are soppy moments and a little too much flailing, but there is also plenty to like here, notably the charismatic lead performances from Claflin and especially Keough, who sings and twirls like Stevie Nicks... Mar 22, 2023 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu Everything is either/or (wife or lover, success or love) with no space for nuance. This is a movie treatment over 10 hours which does make you feel like they kind of wasted your precious time Aug 27, 2023 Full Review Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome Daisy Jones & The Six speaks to a rockstar phenomenon of a bygone era, and it would be foolish to say it’s not exciting to live the high life like that for ten dreamy episodes. Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online The characters are deep and explored well, with career best performances across the board. The 70's essence is captured perfectly in it's aesthetic and vibe, with music that can be enjoyed away from the show as well as during it. Rated: 4/5 Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Richard B One of my two favorite shows ever. I watched it when it came out in 2023, and then again, and just now I watched it again. Maybe I have stronger feelings than others because I’ve been sober for years, so I identify with everything. I haven’t read the book, although I’ve read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (my second favorite book, and the reason I dedicated my website to Taylor Jenkins Reid), Carrie Soto is Back (another of my favorite books), and Malibu Rising. Yeah, there’s drugs, and addiction, and chaos, but amazing music and performances, and a band that comes together as a family over and over—all of which brought out years of buried feelings for me. I won’t stop watching it. The reveal near the end of the series, and the two really great joyous endings at the end (for Billy, Camila, their daughter, and Daisy) are worth watching, and crying, and watching again. My website reviews 50 shows and 30 miniseries, and I’ve checked through all of them. None match the ending of Daisy Jones and The Six. This last episode is the perfect culmination of all the turmoil, joy, anger, conflict, and hope that the show has been circling around. It is probably the best episode of any show or miniseries, ever. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/25 Full Review Mariana C If you read the book, don’t watch the series. It’s completely a different series entirely. From the character developments to the most minute details, it ruined the book. It ruined the character of Camila especially but also Billy dunne, daisy jones, and Karen were made one dimensional. I don’t know if it’s a good series separate from the book but as a reader it was disappointing to say the least (Not the actors fault) Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Lana t Definitely way too polished yet still really exciting to watch Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review Machteld U I loved this. Good music. Great acting Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review Rhyan F It took me a year to finally watch this series. And what can I say? It's fantastic! The acting, the writing, the soundtrack, the costumes and the setting... simply incredible! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review Esteban C drugs, drama and lots of rock and roll! a great book to series adaptation. sometimes a little slow, sometimes something unnecessary came out and a few changes i wished they kept from the original story, but great overall! visually stunning, incredible soundtrack and a very well captured vibe that made me feel a part of the ‘los angeles’ 70’s music scene! overall, a series with great depth but a lack of interesting filling stories to compensate the main love triangle!
