Jen's husband recently died in a hit-and-run, and the sardonic widow is determined to solve the crime. Optimistic free spirit Judy has recently suffered a tragic loss of her own. The ladies meet at a support group and, despite their polar-opposite personalities, become unlikely friends. As the women bond over bottles of wine and a shared affinity for "The Facts of Life," Judy tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. The dark comedy -- which explores the weirdly funny sides of grief, loss and forgiveness -- features a cast that includes TV veterans Christina Applegate and Ed Asner.

Critics Consensus

Dead to Me's final season has some diminishing returns as the twists begin to feel overplayed, but Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini remain a compelling duo who viewers will want to stick with to the bitter end.

An ode to the platonic love between a queer woman and her straight best friend. It’s a beautiful love story, start to finish, and each episode brought elements of murder mystery, heartbreak, and so, so much laughter. Go to Full Review

See more Raquel E @raquelea Aug 14 A powerful and heartfelt conclusion that blends dark humor, sharp twists, and deep emotional resonance. Jen and Judy’s journey feels raw and authentic, capturing themes of friendship, forgiveness, and living fully despite inevitable loss. The ending is bittersweet but beautifully fitting, leaving a lasting impression. See more Christine B @RT37154483 01/12/2025 Twisted and funny. Judy and Jen are so messed up but somehow I still want to be friends with them. See more J T @UtahRondo 10/18/2024 Season one was interesting, season 2 sucked...should have stopped. But I watched season 3 and it is even worse than season 2. Writers turned activist. Awful ending and nothing satisfying. Just bad. See more Helen L @RT72454312 02/13/2024 Really enjoyed all three seasons. A good original story. See more Toms c @tomscove 06/04/2023 Wow, that was awesome. See more Read all reviews
