Sean O'Grady Independent (UK) As a standard police procedural drama, it follows the usual pattern of murderous set up... but because the viewer has so little chance to get to know the victim, they instead need to be engaged by the detectives and the various possible murderers. Rated: 3/5 Jan 12, 2021 Full Review James Walton The Spectator Without making much fuss about it, the show has built up solid back stories for each of the main characters and carefully drawn -- if not subtle -- relationships between them. Audience Member I have only been able to stomach watching two episodes of Season Ten. I've watched every episode of seasons 1-9, some of them multiple times. It's one of my favorite shows. However this business with DI Parker and his maladies and his over-the-top reactions to his various allergens is about to drive me away from the show. It's neither funny nor endearing, it's embarrassing. For the first nine seasons of this show it was just the right mixture of quirky characters, clever writing, superb acting, fun dialogue, mind-bending whodunits, and spectacular settings. But in Season Ten the actors do their best to rise above the sophomoric drivel they have been given in Episodes One and Two. I almost stopped watching in the middle of Episode One, it was that bad. The only character to avoid being burned by the show's over-the-top cringe-worthy embarrassments is Harry the Leopard Anole. At least so far in the first two episodes.
