Weiting Liu Common Sense Media Ultimately, the show feels more like a botched farce than a successful slow burn. Rated: 2/5 Oct 24, 2024 Full Review Juan Pablo Russo EscribiendoCine With a plot that explores the conflicts of desire and family pressures, Deceitful Love offers a nuanced narrative that puts at the center an older's woman ability to redefine her love life. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 5/10 Oct 14, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Deceitful Love is a pretty ridiculous show, with the least ridiculous part being the relationship at its center. If it weren’t for the stunning shots of the Amalfi Coast and the beautifully-shot sex scenes, it would be completely unwatchable. Oct 10, 2024 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com In Netflix's 'Deceitful Love' everything is dramatic and nothing sticks, leaving us to witness an age-gap love story that is a mess and a half. Philip R Deceitful Love delivers exactly what it promises—gorgeous scenery, passionate performances, and plenty of dramatic twists. The casting for Gabriella and Elia was spot on; both leads brought warmth and chemistry to their roles, making their love story feel grounded even when the plot veered into telenovela territory. Positano and the Amalfi Coast looked stunning, practically stealing every scene. The supporting cast was strong overall, with a special shoutout to Francesco Del Gaudio, who was an absolute joy to watch and brought charisma to every moment on screen. The writing held up well for the most part, though it stumbled in places—particularly with the character of Marina, whose motivations and actions often felt inconsistent or underdeveloped. That said, this isn’t a show you watch for airtight plotting. Approach it like an Italian telenovela: dramatic, over-the-top, and deliciously escapist. Let yourself get swept away by the views, the music, and of course, Giacomo Gianniotti—who is every bit the visual feast you'd hope for. A stylish, emotional ride with just enough substance to keep you hooked. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/06/25 Full Review Linda V At the very first start I was hesitant but as I got more into the story I was totally taken away. The controversial part really hit me, being the same age as Gabriella. It is a story with different layers and worth reflecting. Many congrats to both Monica (she is amazing, what a lady, woman, pure, so beautiful) and Giacomo for his convincing role. For me it was "beautiful" despite the intriges, the lies etc,.. I looked above that. If all of us could live this experience,.... Plus the Italian Amalfi scenery is absolutely stunning. All my respect because not easy to bring across the message,.. story line could have been better though Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review cynthia c Pretty bad. The lead actress strongly resembles Ingrid Bergman, so watching her is an absolute pleasure. The acting is uniformly good. But the plot? Oof! It veers off in a lot of strange directions. The ending is…odd. I want to say unrealistic, unbelievable, but given how people often choose to ignore the worst in their partners, perhaps not. I think we’re asked to believe changes in Elia’s character that seem incongruous with the other facts we learn about him throughout the series. Not the most unpleasant way to spend a few hours. Even Ingrid Bergman made a few stinkers…I.e., Hitchcock’s Suspicion! Which this feels a lot like! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Mónica G Un protagonista guapísimo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie and the chemistry between the two lovers was hot!!
