Marah Eakin Chicago Reader It’s that kind of “been there, seen it before” type struggle that makes Dress My Tour feel so tired. Jul 25, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Dress My Tour may be a photocopy of other design competition shows, but with a good host and mentors who give good advice, along with a talented group of designers, it’s a pretty good-looking photocopy. Ian L It is so tiring, the contestants are not really good, and they complain a lot. The guest celebrities are actually the only entertainment and the end products are lacking in quality. It is difficult to not fast forward through the show but at times I wanted to do just that. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review Lauren W I ended up using the fast forward multiple times an episode. This show was toxic and I have a feeling the producers encouraged it. I have really enjoyed shows like project runway or next in fashion and I loved the premise, but this was a DNF series for me. Designing purpose built clothing for clients is a fun spin on a tried and true format. However, most of the show was focused on the b**chiness of the contestants and the designs were pretty terrible (whether that was due to contestant talent or the fact that they usually had less than 24 hours of work time to design and produce a look... who knows). Also what was with the contestants voting one of the bottom two each episode felt cheap. When did this become a social competition?! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Shavon M Designers are not strong, the quality is not there and clothes look very very cheap. It’s a knock off version of Project Runway with C-list celebrity guests and poor talent. I highly doubt it will be renewed for season two. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/24 Full Review Sofi A Aunque el concepto no es innovador, me gustó. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Adria G Less about design and clothes and more about fake reality show fighting amongst contestants. Really the clothes and design portion in this are an afterthought. Barely enough time spent while they’re constructing in the work room and then when the clothes go down the runway …. It spends 5 seconds on each look. Are the designers good? Who knows? We don’t get to see their process really…. The judges are lazy and barely critique and then the contestants send people home. What an annoying disaster of a design show. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Audience Member I felt that there was bias towards a few of the contestants from the beginning of the show till the end (particularly from one certain judge). Another thing is the fact that it wasn’t mentioned at the beginning of the finale episode that the winner will be decided based on the whole show and not just the finale collection (like they did during each episode). It felt like it was added conveniently right during deliberations for a certain purpose. Overall, amongst all the design shows I’ve watched, this was the weakest one.
