Marah Eakin Chicago Reader It’s that kind of “been there, seen it before” type struggle that makes Dress My Tour feel so tired. Jul 25, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Dress My Tour may be a photocopy of other design competition shows, but with a good host and mentors who give good advice, along with a talented group of designers, it’s a pretty good-looking photocopy. Shavon M Designers are not strong, the quality is not there and clothes look very very cheap. It’s a knock off version of Project Runway with C-list celebrity guests and poor talent. I highly doubt it will be renewed for season two. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/24 Full Review Sofi A Aunque el concepto no es innovador, me gustó. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Adria G Less about design and clothes and more about fake reality show fighting amongst contestants. Really the clothes and design portion in this are an afterthought. Barely enough time spent while they’re constructing in the work room and then when the clothes go down the runway …. It spends 5 seconds on each look. Are the designers good? Who knows? We don’t get to see their process really…. The judges are lazy and barely critique and then the contestants send people home. What an annoying disaster of a design show. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Audience Member I felt that there was bias towards a few of the contestants from the beginning of the show till the end (particularly from one certain judge). Another thing is the fact that it wasn’t mentioned at the beginning of the finale episode that the winner will be decided based on the whole show and not just the finale collection (like they did during each episode). It felt like it was added conveniently right during deliberations for a certain purpose. Overall, amongst all the design shows I’ve watched, this was the weakest one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Gina D This reality show introduced a unique twist by allowing contestants to decide who goes home, a departure from traditional formats. While the selection of judges and mentors was commendable, the significant flaw lies in permitting designers to criticize and judge each other. This approach undermines the professionalism of the show and perpetuates a negative narrative commonly seen in reality TV. The dual role of being both a competitor and a judge creates an environment that lacks ethical integrity and diminishes the overall credibility of the competition. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review Earth S The novel things it brings to the table, with the new surge of design tv, it does well. Having designers vote each other off, a show about stage/perfomance wear and the models actually dancing in it. The guest judges picking the winners. Those 3 things really set it up for success. However, between the intense insults, arguments and tears...its very hard to root for any of them. But the show is about the design and looks...and those aren;t the best. Fit Issues and construction issues plague each episode as the judges celebrate looks as if they arent picked and badly sewn. You can also call the winner from a mile away.
