A battle between heaven and hell translated into daffy slapstick, Exploding Kittens won't blow viewers' minds but serves up some fun animated mayhem.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Imagine Bob’s Burger with a streak of Monty Python. Jul 19, 2024 Full Review Lucy Mangan Guardian It is carelessly made, infuriating and unfunny. It is full of jokes that don’t work because, clearly, no one knew or cared what they were doing. Rated: 1/5 Jul 12, 2024 Full Review Isobel Lewis AV Club Instead of the fast-paced, lighthearted adaptation similar to the card game, Exploding Kittens feels like learning the rules itself. You can swear you’re interested, but nothing else is going on to keep you hooked. Rated: C- Jul 12, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked We’ve all lived through game-to-screen adaptations — some good, like Clue; some very bad, like Battleship; some still TBD, like the proposed Uno. What Exploding Kittens has over other attempts in the space is that there’s comedy in its DNA. Aug 28, 2024 Full Review Neil Soans The Times of India Exploding Kittens is a quirky and entertaining series that, despite its flaws, manages to capture the spirit of its source material in a fresh and amusing way. Rated: 3/5 Jul 26, 2024 Full Review Daniel Kurland BubbleBlabber If Exploding Kittens continues down the same path then there will be nothing worthwhile to glean from more episodes. If idle hands are the Devil’s playthings, then disinterested audiences will all be turned into demons by the end of these nine episodes. Rated: 5.5/10 Jul 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Reetta A Hilarious, funny, good plot, intriguing characters with unique personalities - a joy ride of absolute sillyness combined with witty dialogue, humorous pop culture refrences and easter eggs. 100/10 want a season 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review William Z Spoilers! I was a funny show but the ending was not good because instead of abominations they should've had less babies and make them look like the ones from the game. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Oli W It’s just entertaining, not necessarily always funny. Its an unique premise and something a bit different, don’t really get all the heavy hate on an animation, One review here said it was ‘blasphemous’ like c’mon I question your intelligence if your expecting accurate scripture from animated cats on Netflix Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review C M The show is both insulting and blasphemous, but its biggest sin is how unfunny it is. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Anna K Me and my boyfriend watched this on Netflix upon the release. I wasn't expecting much, but the exploding kittens game was sort of familiar to me. While the pilot had a lot of cringe jokes to say the least - and it really turned me off at first with wanting to be "dark" and "edgy" (just being plain edgy, not quite hitting the funny mark with their jabs at a certain religious following). By the second episode it got things rolling, and to be honest I was quite surprised. It began to get me invested with the character development, and it shows a few cute (and somewhat touching) moments in later episodes relating to the family dynamic. Not sure how I felt about the romance between two of the main characters at first, but this show has a lot of potential. It has honestly stuck with me since, and I look forward to another season that's even better! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/20/24 Full Review Peter B I absolutely love how unapologetically hilarious this show is. The one liners and just the comedic timing are amazing. The writing is so amazing. I'm going to need more seasons of this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
