Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter Jan 22
Although Free Bert is successful on some level, telling a neatly arced story over six half-hour episodes that resolve in a way I found strangely satisfying (still setting up a possible season two), it’s not especially funny. Go to Full Review

Free Bert ultimately succeeds because it understands a core comedic truth: Fitting in is overrated, and the attempt to do so is inherently ridiculous. Go to Full Review

The mildly funny scripted comedy series offers an overall "fish out of water" plot line based on Bert Kreischer and his family's experiences navigating life in Beverly Hills, California. Go to Full Review

If your expectations for Free Bert are beneath the floorboards, below the basement floor, and six feet into the frozen tundra, you might not hate it. You'll just vaguely dislike it. Go to Full Review

If you like Bert Kreischer, Free Bert is probably his most self-aware project yet. If you don’t, it won’t change your mind. Go to Full Review

While Free Bert could be funnier, we do appreciate that Kreischer and his co-creators took a chance and made his show about something rather than just an extension of his comedy persona. Go to Full Review

Jeremy E @OneDJYouLike Feb 21 This was drastically better than I expected it to be. Love that he got Ava Ryan to play his daughter. She has been hilarious since she was a toddler. But the actress who plays his youngest daughter is easily the funniest character on the show. They crushed it with the casting on this. Fingers crossed they keep the momentum going for many more seasons. See more K P @KPMav Feb 18 Not the most realistic storyline, as many actions and behaviors portrayed would get most parents arrested or on a list in real life, but not at all unbingeworthy. This was a very enjoyable show for being a mildly spoofy comedy show from a funny guy branching out from stand up comedy. I look forward to season 2 or whatever continuation Bert decides is the way to go. 9/10 would definitely watch again. See more Robin M. @littlebushpig Feb 13 Excellent show - witty & irreverent humor. Rereshingly honest, and it highlights how messy real life is in a way that feels relatable and genuinely funny. See more Glen A @EnjoyLife Feb 13 Absolutely hysterical! See more Joe T @SonofBort Feb 12 daddy needs some cardio See more Olha V @FancyPants Feb 9 It’s the funniest new series you can watch right now. Episode 3 is a perfection actually. The sarcastic takedown of the social divide is on point, and the series as a whole delivers a lot more depth than the dialogue suggest. A must see this year! See more Read all reviews
