"Stephen King" Serie - nicht von Stephen King. From, verbindet im Geiste "Salem's Lot" (nur sind es nicht Vampire, sondern bestialische Geister) und "The Dome". Auch kann man den Film "Legion" mit Paul Bettany und Dennis Quaid als Referenz nehmen. Es geht sehr blutig zur Sache. Es werden auch grausame Entscheidungen getroffen, zum Wohle der um überleben kämpfenden Comunity. Ob nun Dialoge oder Bildsprache. Alles ist wie aus einem Guss. Ich möchte Mike Flanagan's Leistungen nicht schlecht reden, da ich auch diese sehr gut finde. Nur ist "From" zum Vergleich nicht so zäh, sondern dynamischer. Die Charaktere sind gut geschrieben. Es kommt echte "Stephen King" Stimmung auf. Hervorzuheben wäre auch der Maintitle "Que Sera" in einer düsteren Version. Die Darsteller sind ambitioniert. Auch "Lost" Vibes sind im Raum. Alles in allem eine Erstklassige Serie für gemütliche Abende mit wohligem Gruselfaktor.

Absolutely fantastic horror-drama. Great cast; creepy as all hell and very unpredictable. That said, they really do have to wrap up the storyline soon as it could become another 'Lost' if they drag this out beyond a 4th series.

This show is an enigma. The concept, and at times the execution of it, are spot on. It engages and intrigues, hints of a big reveal that brings it all together. Simultaneously, the downtime is filled with empty conversations devoid of any content to drive anything forward. Rather than meaningful dialogue between characters we get empty filler. When the dialogue seems to be going somewhere, it takes a right turn into empty yelling and swearing as if to cover the lack of effective writing. Yet here I am giving it 4 stars, on the hope that it delivers on it's potential. It is worth watching, even with having to endure the frustratingly hollow character interaction.
