When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.

Tobias K A show that delivers on its title. Even if it relies heavily on horror tropes and some character stereotypes, episode per episode the tension builds up and it really seems like the hate and fear will erupt in a total disaster. On the way you're getting regularly good and even some really great performances, while the soundtrack respectfully brushes past 80s metal and modern songs that could have been dug up from this era. I kind of wish the show would just let itself be a serious show about Satanism infecting a small town in the 80s; and all the horrific aftermath of that; rather than this wink, wink, we're just joking satire. But it's interesting; even as it is; uneven and all...And it's great seeing both Julie Bowen and Bruce Campbell's Ash from the Evil Dead franchise again.
