Carol Midgley Times (UK) Things can get repetitive. But the dialogue does sparkle as the series flits seamlessly between the silly and the profound. Rated: 3/5 Aug 2, 2024 Full Review David Opie Empire Magazine Interview With The Vampire continues to outshine the ’90s movie and even the source material with an extravagant, unabashedly queer second season that cements it as one of the all-time greats. Rated: 5/5 Jul 31, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) There’s an entertaining surplus of queer desire, fake blood, and ripe dialogue. It’s evocative in the best sense, with the change of location from 1910s New Orleans to 1940s Paris providing a welcome new backdrop. May 24, 2024 Full Review Brooke Obie Black Girl Watching Season two could’ve done with more racial and gender analysis...[but] If I could describe my favorite vampire adaptation in one word it would be: genius. Feb 6, 2025 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Confessions From A Geek Mind Even in the show’s slight shortcomings, it doesn’t give off the impression of malice or ill-intention. It plays into the show’s larger themes of people living ugly, complicated lives where there are no easy, cookie-cutter answers. Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 28, 2025 Full Review Kristen Maldonado Pop Culture Planet Interview with The Vampire season 2 ups the nuance of these characters, allowing the actors to deliver tense and emotional performances. The stakes are higher than ever as we learn the truth behind some of the inconsistencies in Louis’ story. Jan 17, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A black plantation owner in the south in 1791 is TOTALLY believable... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review Nicholas D Really enjoyed S1. However S2 is quite boring and demonstrates how Lestat carries the entire series. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/18/25 Full Review Randy D I have been a fan of the books for a long time...read them as a kid. Liked the first movie but The Vampire Lestat was always my favorite book. That is my history, and I thought that was the extent of my enjoyment of the Vampire Chronicles....boy was I wrong. Sam Reid as Lestat is one of the best television characters ever...I don't know if I have ever cried so hard watching Sam Reid in end of season 2. Bravo Sam Reid Bravo Sam Reid!!!!!!!! The show is amazing and has literally catapulted up into my favorite all time shows. This will be a show I rewatch multiple times and please keep the season coming. Season 3 is all about Sam Reid's Lestat and I could not be more excited. Most anticipated show of 2025. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review T T This is a story that is significantly different than the one written by Rice or in the movie. But I think it's well done. The second season had some fantastic moments in it, but I did feel it begin to slip. There were some plot issues, especially towards the end, that weren't credible to me. The actor for Lestat is perfect. The actor playing Santiago was also great. The actor for Armand I don't think is the best fit. **Spoiler alert. ** I didn't think it was realistic at the end when Armand was okay with killing Louis. That made no sense at all. Killing Claudia, yes, but not Louis. It would have been fine if it were just him being complicit in the killing of Claudia. The change they made was neither necessary nor helpful. In fact, it felt cheap. I didn't like this season as much as the last one. And I don't know that I'm going to watch the third one except there are enough moments that are captivating and amazing that I may watch it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review Tobias K On par with the first season, sometimes even stronger. Starting with an especially grim episode before transferring the story to Paris with a bunch of new and mostly fascinating characters, the season is neatly constructed around the new world Claudia and Louis stumble into. Not only is Daniel Malloy's character given a way better arc than in first chapter, but the penultimate episode is a truly cruel mix of perfect acting and devastating story telling choices, which temporarily messed me up, but I am cool now. If the next season provides us with the same type of emotional punches to the guts, we are all in for a masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Andrei D Better but still needs more Dubai action and less melodrama Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Read all reviews
