Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, reprising her role from the "Captain America" films) is an unstoppable secret agent for the Strategic Scientific Reserve, dedicated to fighting new atomic threats that have emerged after World War II. After working in New York, Peggy heads across the country to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. As Peggy explores the bright lights of Hollywood and discovers new friends -- and perhaps a new romance -- a sinister threat emerges that could impact everyone she is sworn to protect.

Oliver Sava AV Club All the additions made to Agent Carter season 2 benefit the series, but in the end the show's success is still rooted in Hayley Atwell's central performance, which only gains more texture as she spends more time with the character. Rated: A- Jan 20, 2016 Full Review Victoria Edel Observer These first two episodes were pretty fun. And they didn't mention Captain America once! Jan 20, 2016 Full Review Scott Meslow New York Magazine/Vulture Agent Carter is just far enough removed from Marvel's grand plans that the show can afford to take risks. This dual premiere doles out some clunky exposition, but it also builds a compelling foundation for a strong season. Rated: 3/5 Jan 20, 2016 Full Review Alyssa Fikse Uproxx The noirish feel of old Hollywood fits the show perfectly, and between the developing mystery and deepening relationships, this season is off to a great start. Jul 12, 2018 Full Review Merrill Barr Forbes It became... nothing more than a Hayley Atwell vehicle that let everything else from production value to narrative importance fall to the wayside if it meant the show's lead actress getting in just one extra spunky line of dialogue. Jul 12, 2018 Full Review Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez Tom & Lorenzo It was fun, but maybe a two-hour premiere loaded down with so much table-setting and story setup wasn't the best way to kick things off. Lucho G Marvel Studios should have done a third (last) season of this show with Chris Evans appearing in the last episode to repete the Endgame scene. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Salzan B Even considering it is not as great as season 1, Hayley Atwell carries the show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Lavish C OH, MY, GOD. OMG OMG OMG!!! S1 was bad, but S2 sets a whole new standard for BAD!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. I don't even know how to describe it. You only need the first minutes to know ALL you can expect from the season: bank robber manages to have an employee open the vault, and inside there's our FL waiting, ALONE. Because she's alone, the villain almost overpowers her. There were other TWENTY SSR agents upstairs. NO REASON WHATSOEVER for her to be alone in the vault. Then she starts interrogating the villain, an EXTREMELY insufferable woman so full of herself who talks with a NAUSEATING mellifluous voice. Expect this insufferability for the WHOLE season. Every villain and most of the new and some of the old characters exude it all the time. The "joy to watch" which some reviewers mentions for S1 is GONE. Then she starts working on a case of a girl mysteriously frozen. The girl worked at a particle accelerator owned by a dude with whom she had an affair. This dude's wife is a co-founder and is called Frost. But not even for one MILLISECOND our genius FL has the MINIMAL intuition that maybe it could be worth investigating her. U N B E L I E V A B L E And so on and on and on. NONSTOP NONSENSE. Plus, the "old times mannerism" which they'd want us to believe it's how people really talked back then is EXTREME and absolutely insufferable. And why the heck does she still meet Stark's butler? Just move on, he's not even funny, actually very much a pain in the A. MCU is the absolute worst that has EVER happened to entertainment. Just like Stan Lee was a scam, a liar, a man without honesty nor integrity who stole the work of others and built his whole career and public persona on the LIE that he was the writer and creator beyond all those characters. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Faiz D First season was better but I will still miss this show. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Ethan L Season 2 feels out of place for the time period it is set in leaving lots of unanswered questions. It dealing with science fiction like other dimensions and supervillains feels like a giant leap from the plot of season one where it feels more grounded and realistic. That is my only critisism of season 2. The plot just feels out of place and a slow. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/18/25 Full Review Ed R No need for a second season.
