      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Pam & Tommy sometimes undercuts its own critique of cultural voyeurism with lurid stylization, but Lily James' performance gives this sleazy opus an undeniable heart.

Previous Doreen St. Felix New Yorker If Pam & Tommy wanted to do something like justice to Anderson, it might have given her more activity outside of whimpering and sighing. Dec 12, 2022 Full Review Liz Shannon Miller Consequence The twist is that this is a true-crime story where the crime is barely recognized as a crime, because it takes place during an era which didnt understand it. Mar 19, 2022 Full Review Rebecca Harrison Sight & Sound Given how frequently the show remarks on consent and the lack thereof in its discussions about the commoditisation of Pam and Tommys bodies, it demonstrates a remarkable level of hypocrisy. Feb 22, 2022 Full Review Scarlett Harris Scarlett Harris (Medium) Despite her name coming first in the title of the show, Anderson is an afterthought to the men Pam & Tommy prioritises. Aug 7, 2023 Full Review Tilly Pearce Digital Spy Pam And Tommy is a fun thrill ride from start to finish. It may have a coat of gloss to reality that could paint a bedroom, but that's Hollywood for you, and doesn't mean some of the gritty bits weren't left in. Just maybe not quite enough. 4/5 Feb 10, 2023 Full Review Tom Gliatto People Magazine At its most serious, though, the series is about the sexual shaming and victimization of Anderson... Previous Nawt W Echoing almost beat-for-beat the source article from Rolling Stone Magazine, the pitiful strutting on soapboxes about consent without actually getting said consent isn't insightful or even cleverly written. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Maybe M This show exceed my expectations massively. Every actor performed amazingly. Sebastian Stan pulls off Tommy Lee's wild ways perfectly and I think that this could be his most impressive performance I've seen. Lily James pulls off Pamela Anderson flawlessly and the hair and make up team is astonishing for the cast's transformations. I understand this show brought up sore memories for Pamela Anderson, but I have to say this show made me realise how impressive and determined she was to succeed and how she was an amazing mother and would do absolutely anything for her children. I have recommend this show to everyone I see as every aspect of this show is great including the creative cinematography and perfect sound and music choices. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review LacosteTK N Seth Rogen Is The Most Under The Radar Best Producer In Hollywood, The Series Is Beautifully Written And Acted, The Directing Is Fresh And It Looks Beautiful,. I Literally Cried At The End, Its In Oar Emotionally With Anime Slice Of Life. I Love That It's Respectful Of Pamela Anderson And Tommy While Being Outrageous With Its Storytelling Its Perfectly Balanced... 100/100 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/04/23 Full Review Gareth v With it's limited source material, this show gets too padded out over it's 8 episodes and with that comes a lack of interest to what is happening with it's main players. It also suffers from some tonal consistency at times. Okay Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Christian C Honestly, the first few episodes of the series are incredibly entertaining, but it seems like the show loses momentum as it progresses. At times, it feels like they've added extra episodes unnecessarily to prolong the story. However, the performances by the actors are great, and the storytelling is well-crafted. The show also benefits from a well-selected soundtrack, adding to its overall production value. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/23 Full Review Kei It's sad that the directors disguise their exploitative film that dredges up painful memories for the victim, as an act that benefits her. Let's see it for what it is, a film that mocks the concept of consent and reduces women to objects, to line the pockets of men. And shame on Lily James to have taken on this role knowing that Pamela was against it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Next Post a review
