      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Its premise may be questionable and its light-hearted tone is occasionally overbearing, but Red Band Society benefits from the strength of its young characters.

Previous Judy Berman Flavorwire ... all the elements are in place for this to be a good, and unusual, series. The dialogue is great. The acting is strong, and never melodramatic. Sep 21, 2017 Full Review Lori Rackl Chicago Sun-Times While the setting and circumstances sometimes seem far-fetched, at least one storyline feels remarkably real to creator Margaret Nagle. Her brother, like the show's 12-year-old narrator, spent a good portion of his childhood in a coma. 3/4 Aug 21, 2017 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News Red Band Society is proof positive that even in this golden age of programming, TV knows no shame. C- Feb 23, 2015 Full Review Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez Tom & Lorenzo Just about the only bright spot in the whole production is Octavia herself, which is a shame, because she's clearly not the focus. Jun 9, 2018 Full Review Dave Walker Times-Picayune There are elements of The Breakfast Club in the premiere episode, and the cast of young actors who will carry the drama all seem very talented. Nov 11, 2014 Full Review Caroline Preece TV Equals It takes courage for a series to be as emotionally uninhibited and blindly saccharine as this and, while that'll turn a lot of people off from the get go, it's existence is refreshing for those of us who lap that kind of thing up. Previous Audience Member An emotional roller coaster. Would recommend this show Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Love the show one of the best shows I ever seen LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I understand what positives it may bring, all I can say is that what my family went through wasn't a story of finding romance and love. RBS focuses on the romantic genre when cancer is an experience that truly shows how precious life is. It has a good heart, but totally misses the point. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member shouldn't be taken off air Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member the writing is profound. The characters are multi-layered. Each week you learn something new about the how and the why. The premise is a twist on previous doctor shows that treat the patients as extra's WHAT IS NOT TO LIKE? If you don't liek this show, you have no soul. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I am in love with how the characters and connected. Like they make the saddest things the greatest things. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Next Post a review
