Awful, what they did to this series is unforgivable. It lost all the heart, fun and magic and became a tedious portrayal of different situations and charachters without any depth. One of the worst series I have ever seen.

Had an ambitious ending. But feels like they undid a lot of things from previous season.

This show as a whole is great. You grow to love the characters. The show flounders a little in the final season. Some character arcs are amazing while others fall a bit flat. There are too many new characters introduced at once and not all of them are likeable.

Awful. Could barely stop cringing for most of it, and for all the wrong reasons. If, after the first episode, you think 'is this a joke?, surely it will get better' I'd recommend you switch it off and never look back. Just look through the other reviews...

        What happened???????

      • Nov 28, 2023

Not a good movie at all.

This season lacked the heart of the first three. Perhaps it was the change in setting or the missing characters, but it just felt like it lacked what I loved about the first three seasons. Otis was horrible to Ruby and 'O', ruining such an originally loveable character. Eric's storyline lacked interest in my opinion, and I would have liked to see more of Maeve in America (and Daniel Levy). The new characters felt generic, and more like an attempt to add more diversity than any real interest to the story. There were some things that saved the season in my opinion: The exploration and rekindling of Adam's relationship with his father (and equally his father's character growth), the relationship between Aimee and Isaac (and Aimee's journey of self-care), Viv and Jackson's friendship, Cal, and finally the fabulous Jean Milburn. I left the season (the last ever season) feeling deeply unsatisfied, and wanting (needing) more from the show, if not another season, another two episodes. Unfortunately, this season has soured the show for me, and if I were to rewatch, it'd have to be the first three only. Not that they'd be the same, knowing how it ends.

I didn't understand why they decided in the final season of the show to change the set so drastically and to add so many new characters. Some relationships seemed forced and unnatural. Where went the sex struggles and their explanation? I liked how it ended and that all the characters got their story ending. I believe that Adam's journey with himself and with his father was the best highlight of the show, really heartbreaking. Also, Otis' mother had a good journey, liked her.
