I really wanted to like this series, but after watching season 1, I couldn’t be more disappointed. The stories were frankly boring, the characters uninteresting and lacking in depth. I lacked any emotional investment in any of the characters or episodes. The producers and writers seem to completely miss what makes MQ worth watching, namely the humor and complex interpersonal dynamics of the characters. At the end of each episode of SQ I was left feeling cheated. Only my deep love for MQ compelled me to suffer through the whole season. If masochism isn’t your thing, definitely skip this. I was genuinely rooting for them all. And now I hear the TV gods are cooking up a Big Bang Theory spin-off with Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman, set in a comic book store??
