The animated series is not for children. In fact, its goal seems to be to offend as many as possible as it presents the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman. The show has taken on Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, politicians of every stripe and self-important celebrities. Oh, and Kenny is killed in many episodes.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

South Park recaptures its sardonic magic in a less serialized season that remains hit-or-miss in its resonance but undeniably funny no matter who it skewers.

Charles Bramesco New York Magazine/Vulture If we're willing to be decent people, that frees Parker and Stone up to misbehave to their hearts' contents. Rated: 2/5 Nov 15, 2018 Full Review Emily St. James Vox Yet South Park is still trapped, to some degree, by having launched in 1997... It was a lot easier to let the show have its fun back then, without worrying about its cultural impact. Nov 14, 2018 Full Review Matthew Rozsa Salon.com A believable mea culpa that is still executed in the funniest way possible. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 11, 2018 Full Review Adam Chitwood Collider It's nice to see that 22 seasons in, South Park still has bite. Mar 12, 2019 Full Review Ryan Nagelhout Uproxx The show insists it's sorry. And it took two episodes to fully say it. So that's a start, maybe. Nov 17, 2018 Full Review Josh Kurp Uproxx Despite the sarcastic title, Stone and Parker (who, as ever, wrote the script) genuinely apologized for not taking global warming seriously. Dionisis T A season of completely unexpected episodes that was definitely worth watching! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Daniel Q Soooooooooooooooooo funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review Enchanted M South Park season 22 is much like season 21 in terms of how well it is. The season isn't necessarily a bad one and actually is a bit more enjoyable at times more than season 21 but it also just isn't anything new and pretty stale at points. The two parter with Satan and ManBearPig is pretty fun but besides that there aren't any more memorable episodes but that doesn't mean they're bad but they're usually good for a couple watchings. All in all there isn't much to say that hasn't been said about season 21, South Park is stale right now but it will soon get much much worse before it gets better. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/25/23 Full Review sharpshiell More leftists invasion of normal shows. Stop it get some help Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Could have been better considering this is south park Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I have only lovely things to say about this season!
