Matt Cabral Common Sense Media Starring sardonic, neck-snapping super spy Sam Fisher (Liev Schreiber,) the show puts a fresh spin on the games' formula while retaining the appeal of the beloved stealth-action franchise. Rated: 4/5 Oct 29, 2025 Full Review Alan French FandomWire A spy series in 2025 needs to have some cool action to meet the genre’s standards. Splinter Cell: Deathwatch has awesome visuals in this regard, allowing us to feel the effort and danger facing Fisher. Rated: 8/10 Oct 18, 2025 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn No Es En Serie Visually, “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch” is attractive and compelling, and while it takes some narrative risks, nothing bothered or angered me. Derek Kolstad (also the creator of “John Wick”) has done a fine job with the show. [Full review in Spanish]. Rated: 4/5 Oct 16, 2025 Full Review Bradley Russell GamesRadar+ While it occasionally sparks into life in the final act (with Liev Schreiber acting as a fine replacement for Michael Ironside), it never matches up to the quality of the game series it's desperately trying to imitate. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 15, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider Definitely feels dialed into its video game and book franchise source material. But it also has a lot of style on its own, and a growly lead voice acting performance from Liev Schreiber, two factors that feed its freestanding quality. Oct 15, 2025 Full Review Aimee Hart Polygon Deathwatch isn't the hard reboot some fans may have been hoping for; it's more of a supplementary component in the franchise. Still, for newcomers, there’s plenty of action and intrigue that could entice viewers to dive deeper into the franchise. Oct 15, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Austin R Top notch voice acting, action, and storytelling Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/13/25 Full Review C S A tragic departure from the series and character of Sam Fisher. As a fan of the games, especially the original trilogy. It's more akin to John Wick than splinter cell. High action, not much stealth. While the animation was pretty nice, Netflix continues to uphold its reputation of inserting it's "ideas" into their shows. You're introduced to a petite woman, Mckenna, a splinter cell agent, who beats up scores of men in the first episode. This immediately unseats you from the realism the SC games attempt to portray. Mckenna checks off Netflixes character boxes. Woman, and then diverse. Grim is made to be insufferable and cynical who is aided by a lady named Jo who runs tech for 4th Echeleon. Also the antagonist... you guessed it, a lady. Early on you learn, McKenna's temperament is a moody, emotional, even impulsive. Her demeanor is the antitheses of what a splinter cell agent embodies. Operatives invited to the program would not only be special forces soldiers... but the elite of that group! Her being new to the program would not work as an excuse. There was a couple scenes where Sam Fisher said something to Mckenna and her response was to sarcastically repeat what Sam said back to her. What kind of dialogue is that? Schreiber's actual tone of voice is a pretty good Fisher voice. But his humor and controlled professionalism are missing. In exchange you get a less charismatic, angsty Sam. Overall, this show is a major disappointment. Instead of "ripping the spine out of the source material" make a Splinter Cell show based on the source material. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review Mike g I saw the trailer and thought this would be horrendous, It gave the impression that poor Sam Fisher would be side lined for a the new younger female agent and they would go down the 'girl boss' route. But luckily, the trailer didn't do the show justice and Sam Fisher is still the main character of the show. The animation was solid, voice acting was good and the overall pacing and story was decent and a lot more violent than i expected. It felt like Splinter Cell, it felt like it could be a continuation from the games and i am excited to see what they could do with season 2. I had fun, now if only ubisoft would sort their S*** out and get back to making some good splinter cell games to go along with the fun show. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/25 Full Review Naveen N A masterclass in stealth, storytelling, and suspense. Splinter Cell: Deathwatch hits every target—clean, silent, and unforgettable. Want more of this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/11/25 Full Review Jake R. Two Words… Absolute PEAK. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Javier R. well executed anime full of action.
