Devoted nurse Alex has just been promoted to Supervising Nurse in the emergency department at St. Denis Medical Center in Oregon. She works alongside an eclectic team of underfunded yet dedicated doctors, nurses and hospital staff, including her boss, Joyce, who wants nothing more than to turn the hospital into an international medical destination, and Dr. Ron, who's done it all, seen it all and is pretty much over it all. They're all doing their best not to lose their patience in a hospital overrun with patients -- while caring for everyone who comes in the door, including each other.

Nina Metz Chicago Tribune The show is trying to tackle a variety of personality types, which is the right instinct, but so far what we're getting are personality traits. That's not enough. Rated: 2/4 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times It’s perfectly fine — consistently amusing, sometimes funny, basically sweet, a little sentimental in the finish. Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Gregory Lawrence TheWrap It’s a gentle, familiar-feeling show, and while it really works when it finds spiky, surprising and even uncomfortable ruffles to the formula, it plays pretty well when it’s just pulling it off too. Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Bruce R. Miller Sioux City Journal Just when you thought there were too many mockumentaries on television, we get “St. Denis Medical,” an “Office”-lite look at the healthcare industry that’s more than a little funny. Rated: 3/4 Nov 12, 2024 Full Review Tim Stevens The Spool St. Denis Medical, at this juncture, is just a little unformed. The talent is definitely there...so there's plenty of potential. Nov 11, 2024 Full Review Nicole Gallucci Decider St. Denis Medical feels familiar, but it radiates an infectious energy all its own. Like a patient who bounces back from a code blue, it’s here to remind us that when done right, network sitcoms have a lot of life left in them. Nov 4, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

D V I’m hoping the pilot (or first episode) is no indication of the quality of the future of this series. Simply put, it was moronic and an insult to both comedy AND the medical profession. I’m glad we ONLY wasted on hour of our lives to test this one. WOW. HUGE disappointment! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Micah H "The Office," but unfunny. Also, in a hospital. Watching the last half of E1, there was one mildly funny cutaway. Zero funny in E2. The acting is fine, but let down by the writing. The characters come off as real people. There are aspects of the show that anyone who's ever had a job can probably relate to. The jokes are all easily grasped; a few are lazy political jokes. But quirky people and awkward and unexpected situations are not automatically funny. The writers appear to be conflating "you had to be there to see it" for something to be funny with "showing the same thing on TV" is funny. But at least the last line in E2 was "kittens."
