Not the best anime ever made, and not the best story ever written. Fans will be served a mash-up of Terminator scenes and lines. But there is a certain novelty to the time travel theme that feels fresh and creative.

A truly inspired revitalization of a previously necrotic franchise, the 1st season oscillates between ethereal ruminations on—and horrific visions of AI, time travel and humanity, complete with unexpectedly entrancing cosmic imagery and otherwise vibrant visuals that emphasize the juxtaposition of breathtaking near-misses with blood-soaking violent spats in this do-or-die saga.

A feast for the eyes and the brain. As a life long Terminator fan I must say that this fresh and quite cerebral take was both bold and inventive. That's not to say that there's no action, far from it, but it punctuates the story rather than simply being one long gunfight against the terminator. I very much enjoyed this and fervently hope that more seasons are commissioned.
