Megan Andersen Common Sense Media This is an edge-of-your-seat crime series that spans two separate murders in one small, snowy, Swedish town. Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Paula Vázquez Prieto La Nación (Argentina) ...The Åre Murders fulfills the constants in its two stories and deepens the dark soul that unites them, defined by something more than the emergence of the crime: the suspension of an inner evil. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 16, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Grisly murders, a suffocating tone, and a climate so harsh you can practically feel the painfully numb fingers of the cast. What’s not to love? Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider The Åre Murders features all the hallmarks of the Nordic Noir genre... throw in some fantastic location shots of Sweden’s mountainous north, and we’re all the way in on this investigation. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Peter Martin ScreenAnarchy They are not superheroes. They act on their emotions and intellect, and they are both very, very smart. ... They make a good team, and the cases are intriguing without venturing into anything preposterous or strained. Rated: 4/5 Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The Åre Murders uses intriguing premises to craft two enigmatic stories but lacks development on the central characters leaving the arcs a bit underwhelming. Rosey R. Hard to watch when you feel the main actor, Hannah was miscast. Too young for the part. The storyline was good but with a few holes and some side stories unresolved. I did like that the series was split with episodes 1-3 about one solved murder and episodeS 4-5 completely new storyline. I would watch a season 2 but skip the terrible English dub and put on subtitles. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Locus P Really great, watchable Swedish crime show. Relatable main characters with genuine warmth. Things played out in believable ways and the snowy setting was a fantastic element all on its own. Half a star deducted just because it was a little strange that the main case ended and another one started, leaving you to think there was more to the first case that must be coming up, and the teenage girl was who murdered was just a little too brave and too much of a "Good Samaritan" for a 14 yr old. But overall, so good. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/25 Full Review Lisa M Gripping edge of your seat investigative crime series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review TKR A Good show. Nice to see something that does not have the American violence signature. At present there are only 2 books in the series, and the 3rd on pre-order. So it could be a while before we see any more. But good show, good twists, good scenery. If you are bored with the monotony of American TV shows this is a good change as it doesn't rely on pace and action, which the American shows do rely on. The Are Murders rely on character and story telling. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review Marco B a good linear tv series divided into two parts: - a good first part but that flows too quickly - the second that manages the times better and finds rhythm, action and heart-pounding. I was quite satisfied, the main actors were also very good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/10/25 Full Review Davey M Always looked forward to the next episode starting. Other than it looked very cold, which you almost felt through the tv, totally enjoyable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Read all reviews
