Paula Vázquez Prieto La Nación (Argentina) ...The Åre Murders fulfills the constants in its two stories and deepens the dark soul that unites them, defined by something more than the emergence of the crime: the suspension of an inner evil. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 16, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Grisly murders, a suffocating tone, and a climate so harsh you can practically feel the painfully numb fingers of the cast. What’s not to love? Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider The Åre Murders features all the hallmarks of the Nordic Noir genre... throw in some fantastic location shots of Sweden’s mountainous north, and we’re all the way in on this investigation. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Peter Martin ScreenAnarchy They are not superheroes. They act on their emotions and intellect, and they are both very, very smart. ... They make a good team, and the cases are intriguing without venturing into anything preposterous or strained. Rated: 4/5 Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The Åre Murders uses intriguing premises to craft two enigmatic stories but lacks development on the central characters leaving the arcs a bit underwhelming. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com The Åre Murders, on Netflix, is quite entertaining as a casual watch but the odd formatting seems disjointed. Lee C Don't Swedish police need to get a warrant before searching someone's car or home? Don't Swedish criminals know not to say anything without a lawyer present? This show's failure to address those kinds of procedural issues makes it seems much less realistic and believable than it should. It's also difficult to care very much about the characters, most of whom are underdeveloped. If there is a season 2, I won't watch it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/25 Full Review David H Good enough, for sure. Decent plots, pacing, character acting. Chilly Nordic scenery is a lovely match for the grim crimes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review Nancy M Really good. Had some slow moments but for the most part, worth watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review Rico c finely acted but predictable and cliché. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/04/25 Full Review Christian A Totally boring plot and acting Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/04/25 Full Review Tom M Absolutely loved watching Season 1. Really enjoy seeing these Scandinavian TV shows not only for their quality but also seeing that part of the world. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
