Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times The length of the series, which is padded with extraneous material... and scenes that run longer than necessary, dilutes its effects, saps the drama of energy. Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Valerie Anne Autostraddle Overall, I enjoyed the puzzle this show presented. It was hard to watch at times, and tackles really dark themes, but the acting is so great... Jul 31, 2023 Full Review Robert Levin Newsday "The Crowded Room" is an unwatchable mess. Rated: 0/4 Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Prabhjot Bains Exclaim! As The Crowded Room's title suggests, the limited series is crowded with fascinating ideas, moments and performances, but they are obfuscated by a slogging, non-linear structure that never becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Rated: 3/10 Nov 14, 2023 Full Review Sharai Bohannon A Nightmare On Fierce Street Podcast The performances and artistic direction elevate a story that never reaches its full potential. There’s something here, but it never gets out of its own way long enough to dive into the murkier waters the story deserves. Liam W A must see for anyone who like pyschological and law movies/shows. The directing of the first half mirrors the story in a way that has you seeing events how Danny (Tom Holland) sees them while dropping subtle clues as to what is really happening. The second half really tackles the subject matter hard leaving the viewer with questions about how to deal with mental illnesses and the struggles that we dont see other people experience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/21/24 Full Review Giulio B The critics must have some kind of beam in their eyes, this series is amazing. The investigation of this boy's mind is fantastic and devastating, and its outcome isn't suppose to be a gigantic plot twist, so it's right that you can have an idea of it from the beginning. This show talks about how we can react to life, how some relationship can destroy us and other can save us. Really freaking wonderful, never listen to the critics. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Marjolein C Truly don't understand the poor score. We found the show incredibly well executed. Photography is beautifully done and the acting outstanding. Even before speaking you know who the alter is. Highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Holly I just watched the whole thing in one night.. very good! I just wish they hadn’t written the book the story was based on in the credits so I knew the twist straight away which was annoying! Well acted and extremely hard to watch.. so so sad! All I would say it’s too long xx Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review youtube c The series is gripping, thrilling and exciting. Great cast and acting. It is a bit lengthy Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/16/24 Full Review rich b I watched this over 5 sittings and it was hard a hard watch. Then I binge watched it and my whole opinion changed. You have to binge this to fully realize how awesome it is, it's too complex to fully appreciate in any other way, is this a bad thing, in this series of complex real life issues It is justified. Perhaps the critics couldn't quite grasp this, too used to watching shallow , immediate gratification content. I've binged watched it twice since and just gets better each time.
