I absolutely loved it. Love how it pushed the limits and made viewers uncomfortable. It really shines a light on the dark side of fame & Hollywood in general. I thoroughly enjoyed it & was very disappointed that it was cancelled & even cut short. This series could have really gone some where further. Depp has so much talent & she absolutely carried the show. Her acting was astounding. Too many conservative cry babies couldn’t handle this kind of show but honestly I think The Idol spoke volumes on so many different levels of abuse in many different ways. It was different & had me glued to the screen wanting more and more. The sexualized aspect of it didn’t bother me. The script was great I loved it. I can’t believe how many people hated it

Abysmal writing, acting, and direction, The Idol is a disgusting fantasy that thinks it's better than it is, and is never compelling or entertaining. It's one of the worst properties to ever be produced by HBO, and is hopefully the last thing The Weeknd ever stars in.
