What to Know

Critics Consensus

Grabbing onto thorny moral questions with its bare hands, The Last of Us' second season is a challenging expansion that retains its predecessor's superb performances and verisimilitude.

Often these middle seasons can feel like a weigh station, an impatient stopover until the meat of the work in the final act but The Last of Us gifts the audience with many sublime moments that make it more than worthwhile in the meantime. Go to Full Review

Season two of The Last of Us may run only seven episodes and have a slightly slower pace than its freshman outing, but it remains an excellent step forward for what has been quite an incredible adaptation of the popular video game series. Go to Full Review

It really digs into the nature of one side’s freedom fighters being the other side’s terrorists. The more you stop seeing your enemy as a human with the exact same impulses and motives as you, the less human you become. Go to Full Review

Nathan S @NathanS. 3d A complete bastardization of the original Last Of Us Part 2 videogame. I honestly feel sorry for anyone who has watched this but never played and experienced the game. I'm not sure how Druckmann or anyone at Naughty Dog let this get made. They completely change characters and there motivations for the worst and retell the story in a manner that does the original a total disservice. The pacing of the game and how the story meticulously unfolds is what makes it a masterpiece by the end and its like the writers of the show completely misunderstood this. Go play the games if you want to be blown away. See more @Dragonsarm 5d Fantastic 2nd season! Followed the game very closely with minor exceptions. Bella has incredible range as an actress. I'm excited to see her fight with Abby next season. Felt bad for Dina. She was a good soldier until she took an arrow to the knee. See more Some Guy F 5d Rush through the first game, which was actually good, in the first season, then really stretch out the worst parts of the second game. I was hoping the TV show might try to stray a bit from the worst parts of the game, but the only good change they made was Abby not having all the remaining steroids in the apocalypse, or that much screen time in general, which will probably change next season which will probably also suck and I will also probably watch. See more bob t Nov 30 disappointing See more Ben N @Bneffer Nov 26 I hated playing most of Last of Us 2. It was brutal, and the series in no different. The only criticisms I have... Abby should dbe played by a bulkier actress. I love Kaitlyn's portrayal, she just doesn't exactly match up with the image I have of Abby, from the game. Also - why cut the game into two seasons? I get it, but I sure hope it is not another 2 years for this one to come out. See more Joel L Nov 23 Compared to season 1, season 2 is bad, like really bad. Its nothing like the game and it feels rushed. Alot of pointless sideplots and conversations that lead nowhere and adds nothing to the story. See more Read all reviews
