Based on Karin Slaughter's bestselling books, the series follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. As a child, Trent was abandoned and was forced to endure a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta's overwhelmed foster care system. Now that he is in a position to make a difference, Trent is determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was. His personal motivation and background contribute to Will Trent having the highest clearance rate in the GBI.

It will welcome viewers who have never read the source material, but it risks alienating longtime fans of Slaughter’s books. Go to Full Review

“Will Trent” is a rare example of a midseason series that would — and maybe should — have been right at home with a splashy fall debut. Go to Full Review

Will Trent quickly emerges as an above-average broadcast TV procedural — even if it’s exactly those structural trappings that so frequently undermine it. Go to Full Review

The story arc is underpinned by powerful emotions of pain and rejection as the characters juggle work and their personal lives. Go to Full Review

Will Trent is a surprisingly funny and entertaining procedural that makes Atlanta and Gwinnett County as a whole a major character. Go to Full Review

Will Trent doesn’t even make for good background laundry or cooking television... The cases are so boring and/or convoluted that it’s easy to lose track if you’re not focused, and it’s not good enough to warrant your full attention. Go to Full Review

Doug N @RT36339031 21h Will Trent is getting to woke for me. When a show starts pushing woke issue it means it’s losing ratings. See more Jeri V @Jeriann Feb 25 The show Will Trent is a unicorn these days. It has a great ensemble cast that it doesn’t waste! There are few shows anymore that truly develops their characters, is not afraid of weaving in subtle humor and delicate story threads throughout each episode. They also do a rare thing: they let the characters evolve! Too many shows these days keep spinning the same premise over and over. That’s how you waste good actors and handicap good writers. Not Will Trent! It must be a pleasure to write, because it’s a delight to watch. Since corporations took over the studios, the depth and quality of their writers has been lost. Not with Will Trent. PLEASE Hollywood, let this be the beginning of something wonderful happening.!! See more Chris R. @topherdee Feb 21 This show has such likable characters and the drama is written differently than what I'm used to, so it's unique in that vein. The storylines can get a bit predictable, especially as far as the cases go. But that's the only flaw I find and even that is only on occasion. See more Pete H @Flossyrockstar Feb 4 Great show and gets better with every series, it’s also introduced me to Karin Slaughter the author that inspired the series. Cant wait for season four! See more Nick H @NovelWriter Jan 15 One of the few clever and enjoyable shows on the major networks. This is more than a police procedural, and the characters are richly drawn and the lead has a very interesting backstory. You'll get hooked on the very first scene with the dog... and I'm a cat person. This series focuses as much on the personal lives of the characters as the crimes they investigate. Will Trent is certainly a unique character as he manages to be successful despite a rather unusual physical trait. Best episode is the one in which Will basically pretends he's James Bond and gets some help from a Roomba. Give this show a try... you won't be disappointed. See more Nathanael C @Wondern8 Dec 27 Take a stereotypical crime drama and sprinkle in your typical hypocritical racist story threads and you have this pile of copy and paste slop.
