Lili Loofbourow Washington Post Yellowjackets has plenty of flaws, but I’m stunned... without sacrificing the thrill of a good plot, it manages to bend genres, juggle wildly different tones and invert familiar tropes. Apr 7, 2023 Full Review Candice Frederick Huffington Post It should get props for the concept and assembling a truly dynamite cast. But, even now in Season 2, it’s coasting a bit too much on intrigue, only sporadically bringing the audience to its most grisly narrative points. Mar 29, 2023 Full Review Boyd Hilton Empire Magazine Yellowjackets continues to be as uniquely gnarly and peculiar as its title sequence with this madly inventive second season, full of thrillingly disturbing developments. Rated: 4/5 Mar 27, 2023 Full Review Elisa Guimarães Collider It’s an extremely frustrating ending. It’s hasty, it’s last minute... Jan 29, 2024 Full Review Steve Murray ArtsATL So far, it’s sustaining the show’s compulsive blend of the spooky, gruesome and blackly comic. Oct 3, 2023 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) Season two ended with a blast, but there are still many questions to be answered. Sep 21, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Chuck Houck C Just as good as season 1. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Nope. Pulling the plug after episode 3. Had enough. I did enjoy the first season though. Why on Earth are the critics' reviews so out-of-step with the audience? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review JJ R Season 2 was super frustrating. No real answers to any mysteries. There are no likeable characters. I can't watch 3 more seasons of this despicable silliness. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review James S Very stimulating. I loved season 1, season 2 really ramps up the mystery of this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Daniel S The drama is a lot less believable than season 1, and the mystery elements are too farfetched. Without any grounding or likeable characters, it's hard to get excited about season 3. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Forged S One of this show's greatest strengths is also perhaps its greatest weakness. Every show of prominence needs a hook to gain a viewer's attention. J.J. Abrams put it best in his discussion of the "mystery box." It's what drives the show forward. It's reason for being. In the case of Yellowjackets, it's been the question of "what happened in the woods" that would drive the girls to be who they eventually became. Yet, one other lingering question, alluded to in the first season, is what extent of their actions was influenced by the supernatural. The writer's hesitation to fully embrace the supernatural leaves me, and subsequently the characters in a state of limbo. Stephen King is a master of this medium. His material makes it abundantly clear from the start that the supernatural drives the madness in his characters (usually has some form of metaphor). The rest of the story usually focuses on the characters decisions to rectify the situation (sometimes to horrific consequences). My issues aside all the strengths of the first season carry over into the second season. There are some absolutely captivating performances from all those involved that only help to bolster the story and really keep you invested. Plus, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the ending of episode 2. This has to be the single best use of a Radiohead song in a TV show or movie... Ever. The scene is disturbing and haunting and the song lends to a sense of foreboding that can't help but leave you with the feeling that there's no turning back.
