Polish-American Alexander Gruszynski has created an impressive body of work over the years, as a cinematographer, actor, and director. Born in Warsaw, Gruszynski learned much about his profession at the National Film School of Denmark, Copenhagen, and by serving as a cinematographer on such films as 1976's "Your Neighbor's Son" and 1977's "Jenny" (for the latter of which he won a Bodil Award). After relocating to the United States in the mid 1980s, Gruszynski would steadily make a name for himself in Hollywood due to his cinematography talents (eventually becoming a member of the American Society of Cinematographers). During the 1990s, Gruszynski would win an additional award, this time a CableACE Award ("Cinematography in a Movie or Miniseries") for 1995's "Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long," as well as an Independent Spirit Award nomination for "Best Cinematography" for the 1994 film "I Like It Like That."
