Amber Rose Revah
Although she was born in London, Amber Rose Revah's exotic good looks most often saw her cast as characters of Middle Eastern origin, most prominently as Saddam Hussein's daughter Hala in the television movie "House of Saddam" (2008) and as Mary Magdalene in the top-rated History Channel mini-series adaptation of "The Bible" (2013). Among her other roles were a prominent part in the Luc Besson-produced, John Travolta-starring thriller "From Paris With Love" (2010) and an appearance as a murdered bride in Lee Tamahori's gripping drama "The Devil's Double" (2011), another movie which concerned the fall of the Hussein family during the Iraq War. An actress with both theatre and radio performance experience in her native England, Revah's first two screen performances of note were minor roles in writer and director Shamim Sarif's lesbian-themed drama films "The World Unseen" (2007) and "I Can't Think Straight" (2008), which dealt with romances between women against a backdrop of apartheid South Africa and London's Middle Eastern community, respectively. During an eclectic film and television career, she collected a diverse range of roles, appearing in director Alejandro Amenábar's historical drama "Agora" (2009), big-budget Bollywood action film "Aazaan" (2011), and the BBC's television adaptation of Charles Dickens' unfinished novel "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" (2012).
