Brownie McGhee
Brownie McGhee brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. In his early acting career, McGhee appeared in such films as the Steve Martin comedy "The Jerk" (1979) and "Angel Heart" (1987). In the nineties and the early 2000s, McGhee's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "A Matter of Degrees" (1991) with Arye Gross, the dramatic comedy "Dogfight" (1991) with River Phoenix and the Valerie Buhagiar comedy "Highway 61" (1992). His work was also in the documentary "Riding the Rails" (1997) with Jim Mitchell. McGhee's music was most recently used in the Seth Rogen hit comedy "Superbad" (2007). McGhee passed away in February 1996 at the age of 81.
