Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, Damon Lindelof studied at New York University, where he performed in a band called Petting Zoo, and studied film. He relocated to Los Angeles after graduation and began pursuing a career in the film industry. He worked as a script reviewer at Paramount Studios, Fox Studios and Alan Ladd studios before beginning his writing career. Lindelof wrote for series like "Crossing Jordan" (NBC, 2001-07), and "Nash Bridges" (CBS, 1996-2001), before co-creating the series "Lost" (ABC, 2004-10). The series became exceedingly popular and the staff was awarded the Best Dramatic Series award at the February 2006 WGA awards. In addition to his work in television, Lindelof wrote six issues of the comic book miniseries "Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk" for Marvel Comics. Lindelof acted as co-producer on the 2009 movie "Star Trek", and produced the sequel, "Star Trek Into Darkness" for which he also cowrote the screenplay. Lindelof cowrote "Prometheus", a Ridley Scott film which was released in June 2012. That same year he co-wrote "Tomorrowland" with Brad Bird. In 2013 Lindelof and Tom Perrotta co-created the series "The Leftover" (HBO, 2013-16). Lindelof was also the show's Executive Producer and showrunner. A fan of the Marvel universe and graphic novels, Lindelof has cited the graphic novel Watchmen and the series "Twin Peaks" (ABC, 1990-91) as influences. Lindelof married Heidi Mary Fugeman in 2005.
