With a couple of decades of Hollywood producing under his belt, David Nicksay has overseen the making of a wide range of films. He first garnered attention on the small screen, receiving plaudits for his work on the TV film "Little Gloria... Happy at Last," which had an all-star cast that included Angela Lansbury, Christopher Plummer--and even Bette Davis. Nicksay shared producer credit with another up-and-coming production powerhouse: Scott Rudin. Those two were also behind the period drama "Mrs. Soffel," which brought together the unlikely duo of Mel Gibson and Diane Keaton. Nicksay soon found himself attaching "executive" to his title; in this capacity, he's held the reins on such family movies as "Stay Tuned" (which featured John Ritter getting absorbed by his television, a fate that Nicksay, despite his Golden Globe nomination, did not share), the hip sequel "Stay Cool" with John Travolta and Uma Thurman, and the mad-scientist romp "Flubber" with Robin Williams, as well as franchises for a younger demo, like "Agent Cody Banks" with Frankie Muniz and "Legally Blonde" with Reese Witherspoon. A Paramount Pictures producer by day, Nicksay is an academician by night; he's a senior lecturer on digital media at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
