Doug Hutchison
Growing up in the midwest, Doug Hutchison first ventured beyond Minnesota and Michigan when he left his normal college experience to head off to the Juilliard School and study under Sanford Meisner. He was there for two years but didn't finish his degree there, instead leaving to bounce around a variety of jobs in his twenties before landing a role in the Molly Ringwald-starring drama "Fresh Horses" (1988). He bounced around a few one-off appearances on TV shows before landing another film role with a bit part in the sci-fi horror flick "The Lawnmower Man" (1992). Shortly after, he played the creepy Eugene Victor Tooms on "The X-Files" (Fox 1993-99), which was the notable start of his penchant for playing disturbing characters. Shortly after, he appeared in a few episodes of the teen drama "Party of Five" (Fox 1994-2000). In the summer of 1997, he was had small roles in a pair of blockbusters: Nicholas Cage-starring "Con Air" (1997) and the critically maligned "Batman & Robin" (1997). To close out the '90s, Hutchison appeared as Percy Wetmore in the Stephen King adaptation "The Green Mile" (1999), which was his most notable role to date. That performance cemented his character actor status, keeping Hutchison gainfully employed for the next decade and beyond, with memorable appearances in "Punisher: War Zone" (2008) and a multi-episode run on "Lost" (ABC 2004-2010) and "24" (Fox 2001-2010). In 2011, Hutchison's career arc changed dramatically. At the age of 51, he married 16-year-old singer Courtney Stodden. Following the marriage, which ended in separation in 2017, Hutchison's career tanked as his agent, family, and audience disowned him for marrying someone so young. He sparsely appeared in movies and television following the marriage, with the most prominent performances being a role in the TV movie "CSI: Immortality" (2015) and the video game "Far Cry 5" (2018), as well as a handful of appearances on reality TV series.
