One of the most beloved bands of the popular bro-country subgenre, Florida Georgia Line first captured listeners' attention with their self-released EP Anything Like Me in 2010. Members Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard both developed a love of music during their childhood church services, with Hubbard even forming a Christian hip-hop group, Ingenious Circuit, during his teens. Kelley entered Florida University with a baseball scholarship, but when the sport didn't pan out for him, he transferred to Belmont University in Nashville where he met Hubbard. The two began collaborating with a mix of musical influences ranging from Garth Brooks to Eminem, and by 2010, they were touring locally to support their EP. It was during one such performance at a county fair that the pair were noticed by Nickelback producer Joey Moi, who began working with the two on their next project, the EP Just What We Do, which was released on label Big Loud Mountain in 2012. Before the year was out, Florida Georgia Line had released their successful debut album Here's to the Good Times on Republic Nashville. They quickly followed this with 2014's Anything Goes and 2016's Dig Your Roots.
