Master documentary cinematographer who shot films for both Robert Flaherty and Joris Ivens before turning to narrative features. After a couple of Hollywood pictures, most notably "High Noon" (1952), Crosby began a long-time collaboration with producer-director Roger Corman. Son is rock 'n' roll performer David Crosby of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame.
