George Baxter
George Baxter rose to fame as an actor, gracing the silver screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Baxter kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Marianne" (1929), the romance "A Woman Commands" (1932) with Pola Negri and the John Barrymore comedy adaptation "Dinner at Eight" (1933). He also appeared in the comedy "Thirty Day Princess" (1934) with Sylvia Sidney. He kept working in film throughout the forties and the fifties, starring in the adventure "Sofia" (1948) with Gene Raymond, "Caged" (1950) with Eleanor Parker and the drama "The Lady and the Bandit" (1951) with Louis Hayward. He also appeared in "Actors and Sin" (1952). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the dramatic adaptation "Lili" (1953) with Leslie Caron, "The First Traveling Saleslady" (1956) and "The Ten Commandments" (1956). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). Baxter last wrote "Beacon Hill" (CBS, 1975-76). Baxter passed away in September 1976 at the age of 71.
