Mar 11 I can't quite understand the extremely low rating this film has. Come on people, it's a cheesy 🧀 "sci-fi" / adventure from 1951. What are you expecting of this film ? I personally enjoyed it a lot. (And of course took it for what it was/is). It's an adventure about people who go "into" the Earth to find out if humanity could survive there (for X amount of time) -in case of an all-out nuclear war. I enjoyed it ! Why would you watch films about giant robots who can turn into cars, but scoff at the "scientific inaccuracies" in this one ?? I don't get that - at all❗ I recommend it (and be aware of when it was made, the state of the world in 1951.....) A certain amount of poetic license is understood in these movies but this mess takes so many liberties with geology and science it's embarrassing. Boring, cheap, and pointless. This "adventure" film is from producer Robert Lippert, which means lots of rock climbing. See more 12/12/2012 There's a lot not going on here, and it takes forever for very little to happen. The characters aren't interesting, and the plot is simple but very stretched out.
