Filmmaker Greg Strause makes up one-half of the directing-visual effects duo "Brothers Strause," whose credits have graced many major feature films and music videos. The pair spent much of their adolescence developing their visual effects skills, and upon their 1995 move to Los Angeles, they immediately found work in Hollywood, first on the 1996 smash Eddie Murphy comedy "The Nutty Professor." For the remainder of the decade, the Brothers Strause worked on many high-profile projects (including the film version of "The X-Files" and the James Cameron-directed epic "Titanic"), building their impressive resumes with each successive film. But the Strauses found quality work in other avenues, too--they worked on visual effects for music videos by the likes of Aerosmith, Britney Spears, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. In light of their successes, the Brothers founded their own company, Hydraulx, which provided effects for many big-budget action films, including the sci-fi blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow" and the bloody historical fantasy "300." The Brothers Strause cemented themselves as the go-to team for visual spectacle, as their resume simply exploded during the late 2000s. And after so many years of working so far behind the scenes, the Brothers finally got the chance to direct a couple of their own projects: the 2007 horror sequel "AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem" and the 2010 sci-fi thriller "Skyline."
