E G Oct 4 Really cool movie. Glad I didn't listen to all the dumb hating reviews. Yeah it starts a bit slow but the action, creatures, cgi is pretty enjoyable. A little more action would've been nice but I've seen way worse movies that had much bigger budgets. This is a movie I can watch more than once. See more Sarah W Aug 2 What a total waste of time. Do yourself a favor and don't watch this film. Any movie that relies on second-tier TV Actors as its stars is just asking to suck. And this movie is no different. Great visual effects, terrible story, so many missed opportunities for mediocrity, and oh, the acting is deplorable. That said, when acting is so bad across the board, you have to look at the director. Not *everyone* could be that bad. But if everyone is being directed badly, then well... there you have it. If I could give it zero stars, I would. See more Robert Jul 19 Cloverfield mixed with War of the Worlds and Independence Day. Took a long time to get going. Character development is non existent just like the acting. Really didn't care what happens to them. This type of film has been done times and done much better. They left the building. Just skip it.. See more Birithivy Y 10/29/2024 Skyline - 1/10. I remember it like it was yesterday. There was an exam the next day. And during those days, I would watch like 3/4 movies a day (instead of studying, which is so stupid of me to do but whatever, it happened). But yeah, I remember seeing the trailer of this online, and being hyped to seeing this. It finally was available to watch online, and I was super pumped to watch the movie. I thought “who cares about that exam, I will pass it! Lets just watch this movie which looks like a great time.” I was not prepared for what I was about to watch. Imagine they made a movie solely on the idea of showcasing CGI done on a minuscule budget (and doing a heck of a job with the kind of money they were working with), and not having a proper story to work with. That is Skyline for you. Its a shame that this movie has no proper story, cause had it had one, this would’ve been an excellent triumph in independent cinema. Yes the directors have worked on blockbusters and there’s some talent here that have worked on some big projects, but overall, this is an indie sci fi film with fantastic visual effects for a minuscule budget. And that’s heartbreaking to see because of the well intentioned intentions here. Its just so dull and bad in terms of story. It gets boring too, which is such a sad thing as well. So that’s time I can never get back sadly. And worst of all, I failed that exam. See more Korra N 09/04/2024 Skyline is a strange movie. It barely hits the so-bad-it's-good margin, with some genuinely great visual effects & awesome creature designs, but they're wasted on an abysmal script, sightless direction & laughably bad acting.
