Birthday: Jun 23, 1977

Birthplace: Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA

Singer-songwriter with a rapid-fire delivery, Jason Mraz honed his music and improvisational, scat-heavy performances on the San Diego coffeehouse scene. He then broke through to the mainstream with 2002's Waiting for My Rocket to Come and its hits "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)," "Curbside Prophet" and "You and I Both." Almost always seen with his trademark hat, Mraz built a loyal fanbase through constant touring, opening for such acts as Alanis Morissette, Tracy Chapman and The Rolling Stones, and releasing 2005's Mr. A-Z, which included the hit "Geek in the Pink." The performer notched an international blockbuster with "I'm Yours" off 2008's We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things., which hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts while topping others around the world. The inescapable, catchy single went six times platinum, Mraz served as musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" (NBC, 1975- ), and he won two Grammys for the album's "Make it Mine" and "Lucky," the latter a duet with Colbie Caillat. He continued to spread his global music message with the release of 2012's Love Is a Four Letter Word. As enormously talented as he was socially conscious, Jason Mraz kept his focus on making music as well as attempting to influence positive changes in the world.
