Bilge Ebiri Spirituality & Health This is a fascinating film, but more importantly, it's a convincing one. May 24, 2021 Full Review Kate Erbland IndieWire While platitudes about how this is really just about love - not money or industry or good old-fashioned greed - are far too simplistic, at least the movie attempts to make its issues feel personal enough to make people care. Ralph W What if I told you everyone on Earth only had about 60 years to live? And what if there were also a proven way to prevent our extinction? What if we just had to work together to bring that solution to fruition? Luckily, we can thank directors Joshua and Rebecca Tickell, whose prestigious documentary Kiss the Ground compellingly demonstrates this notion. The first step is identifying an issue and being informed on how to solve it. This film does exactly that, monumentally exemplifying both things. With the combined efforts of many talented entertainers, influencers and political activists, this film shows us the many affected facets of the ecosystem and the potential causes of its diminishment. From the loss of topsoil caused by desertification, to the positive effects of biosequestration, the film demonstrates the many contributing factors to the micro ecology of the environment. Microbes are a major and essential component to keeping our soil healthy, our air clean, and our food nutrients rich. The truth is, without combined efforts, we are all at risk. This is why this movie's message is important for everyone. After watching the film, you understand what to be upset by and can make your own better informed decisions. Something as simple as supporting your local produce farmer can make a difference. This movie is thought-provoking, emotion-evoking, and represents a major moment in history, a segment in time that may one day represent how far we've come from a detrimental time. If we all, as a collective society, adhere to the message, then it’s possible. The somber feeling that we are going towards an inevitable downfall is diminished when we find out it is a choice. If we’re willing, the efforts of the film will one day reflect the bad past we have left behind. An inspirational sentiment that by the end of the 90 minutes is reaffirmed not only by group efforts to change but also through the film's proven examples of solutions that work! As someone who often worries as time marches on. I’m very thankful that everyone in the film put so much effort into this great piece of cinema, which tastefully exemplifies the multitude of possibilities to regenerate the damage being dealt. If you ever feel the need to get inspired that you’re part of something greater than yourself, or just want to watch a motivating movie, give it a watch. This is the kind of movie you can watch with anyone and still have a great time. Thanks to the talent in the film’s production this is one of the best films I’ve seen this decade. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Haley C Thank you to everyone who is still actively trying to educate the world to save it! 🌎💚🌱 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Phillip D I had been trying to track this documentary down as well as Common Ground. Very glad that they are available to watch now. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review Emma C Directors Josh and Rebecca Tickell created a beautiful and inspiring film with Kiss The Ground. The documentary has an engaging narrative that is supported through interviews with environmental scientists, farmers, and celebrity advocates. The past, present, and future of farming are coupled with extraordinary visuals that drive the point home. The film outlines the solution to climate change which is regenerative farming and carbon sequestration. The infographics in the film make the scientific concepts understandable for all viewers. By embracing regenerative farming we will have healthier soil which will lead to a restored planet and nutritious food. Kiss The Ground leaves viewers motivated to invest in the Earth by giving them a hopeful solution to the problem of climate change. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review Dadiana C This is the first discussion of climate change that hasn’t made me feel like I’ll have to train for doomsday. Kiss the Ground is a highly informative documentary of what farmers and to an extent everyday people can do to keep our planet going for generations. By returning to the farming techniques of indigenous peoples around the world like allowing animals to graze freely, phasing out the use of tilling, and diversifying plants grown, rapid climate change can be mitigated in our lifetime. With voice-over from Academy Award-nominated actor Woody Harrelson to break down the more academic language used throughout it, I think those interested in reducing their carbon footprint or waste would greatly benefit from giving this documentary a look. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Jacob K If you believe in nature’s power to heal itself, Kiss the Ground will speak to your soul. Directed by Josh Tickell and Rebecca Tickell, this documentary shows how regenerative agriculture can restore soil health, pull carbon from the atmosphere, and rebalance our ecosystems. Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the film highlights pioneers in regenerative farming like Gabe Brown, who prove that working with nature can heal the Earth and ourselves. The stunning visuals of thriving farms are a testament to what’s possible when we treat the land with respect. Beyond just watching, the film empowers each of us to take action—whether by supporting sustainable farming, making conscious food choices, or advocating for policies that combat climate change. For those who embrace holistic living and sustainability, this film is a powerful call to action. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Read all reviews
